Australian Association of Angel Investors Limited
The AAAIL is the professional industry peak body for angel investors in Australia. Its role is to:
- Promote ethical and efficient angel investment and angel syndication in Australia.
- Promote the growth of angel investment in Australia, including encouraging and informing the establishment of new angel groups.
- Define best practice for angel investor members in an Australian context.
- Disseminate information on and access to formally recognised syndication models.
- Be a source and channel for information and education of angel investors and entrepreneurs seeking angel investment.
- Represent the interests of angel investor members in Australia as a peak body in dialogues with governments, peers and industry.
- Represent members internationally in dialogues with peers, industry and governments.
- Act as a channel for information and opinion from members to form the basis of advice to Government.
- Assist with, and direct, research into Australian angel investment activities.
- Organise and hold an annual summit conference on topics relevant to members.
“ASIC” Australian Securities and Investment Commission
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission enforces and regulates company and financial services laws to protect consumers, investors and creditors.
FIDO
FIDO is the consumer website of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). ASIC is the consumer protection regulator for financial services. In this role, we protect investors, superannuants, depositors and insurance policy holders. We also regulate and enforce laws that promote honesty and fairness in financial products and services, in financial markets, and in Australian companies.
Angel Association New Zealand
The AANZ has been established to advocate for and to promote best practice within the fast-growing angel investment sector in New Zealand. Members are the 15 angel groups around New Zealand. Andy Hamilton, CEO of business growth centre The ICEHOUSE and leader of the ICE Angels, is the inaugural chairperson of the association council.
Angel Capital Association
The Angel Capital Association is North America’s professional alliance of angel groups. This fast-growing association brings together many of the 265 angel organizations in the United States and Canada to share best practices, network, and help develop data about the field of angel investing.ACA offers its members a variety of benefits including an annual North American Summit, regional meetings to share more detailed information, access to the top minds in the field, research papers and best practice information, and a members’ only section of this site with data on each of the members.A true peer-to-peer organization, ACA is already starting to change the nature of early-stage investments for entrepreneurs, angels and venture capitalists. This organization provides thought-provoking discussions and valuable information.Entrepreneurs: Please note that ACA is not a direct investor in entrepreneurial companies, nor does ACA review business plans and/or refer them to our member groups. Any investment opportunities must be presented to an individual member angel organization or via someone in your community who can provide a referral. National Angel Capital Organization
The National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) is Canada’s voice of Angel Investors. By Angels, For Angels
NACO promotes a vibrant Angel community and culture in Canada through the development of formal Angel investor groups, best practices education and mentoring programs, the formation of collaboration and co-investment mechanisms, and policy advocacy to encourage an efficient risk capital market in Canada.
The NACO’s mission is to increase the quantity, quality, and success of Angel investments in Canada, thus creating a greater pool of capital for innovative start-up companies.
The NACO:
- Is not-for-profit and makes no investment
- Advocates best practices for Angels
- Encourages and develops local Angel groups
- Provides networking opportunities between Angels
- Provides a collective voice for Angels
EBAN - European Business Angel Network
EBAN, is a non-profit association representing the angel and early stage investment market, and acts as a think tank, working to shape EC policy in favour of the BAs, BANs and early stage venture capital market in Europe. EBAN was established with the collaboration of the European Commission in 1999 by a group of pioneer BANs in Europe and EURADA (the European Association of Development Agencies).Its main purposes are to:
- Represent the early stage investment market in Europe
- Carry out research on the angel market and produce facts and trends
- Identify and share best practice
- Promote the role and visibility of business angel networks and early stage funds in Europe
- Promote synergies and networking opportunities among actors in the industry
- Support the emergence of professional structures and quality standards across Europe
- Support the internationalisation of the angel and early stage industry and movement
The membership of the Association is composed of:
- Federations of BANs
- BA Networks with a transnational, national, regional and local coverage
- Early stage venture capital funds
- Other entities involved in promoting the early stage investment market in Europe.
